We are exhibiting Hiroko Kubo’s ”Three yellow sphinxes”.

Upate: 2026年6月21日

Starting 21st June 2026, we are exhibiting the sculpture Three yellow sphinxes by artist Hiroko Kubo on the south side of La Ruche.

In this work, the artist uses netting—commonly seen in everyday settings such as crow deterrents and trash collection areas—deliberately as the “skin” of a sacred being. Set amidst lush nature, the sculptures are exposed to sunlight, rain, and wind, and animals have taken up residence on them. They come to symbolize the boundaries between nature and the artificial, the wild and reason, and animals and humans.

Against the backdrop of the Southern Alps towering like pyramids, we invite you to experience the three yellow sphinxes, whose appearance changes with the weather and seasons at Kiyoharu Art Colony.

This exhibition is presented in collaboration with the solo exhibition “Red Clay” at the art space GASBON METABOLISM in Hokuto City.
